History

The Club started life as Roseacre Saturday Club, on the Green and then at Roseacre Junior School, its declared objective was “to promote enjoyment of and participation in football and other sports activities by children”. At this time club membership included both boys and girls and activities extended beyond the football season to summer sports. After a while the club, focused on football activities and became Roseacre Raiders Football Club, establishing teams in age groups, some entering the local Maidstone leagues, retaining the ethos to give everyone a game.

Future

26 years on, the Junior Raiders 5-8yrs meet at the Elizabeth Harvie Memorial Field, with older teams at various home venues around Maidstone. For the season 2018-2019 we have over 50 children, Junior Raiders 5-8 yr old (Boys) and 7-8 yr old (Girls) at the Elizabeth Harvie Memorial Field, Under 9’s Under 10 at Bearsted Woodland Trust. We also run teams at Under 11s and U12s at Roseacre School and Under13, U15 (Girls) and U18 teams in local leagues. Each team is run by volunteers who we encourage to attend an FA coaching course. The Club achieved FA Chartered Club Status in 2013, with all coaches qualified to FA coaching standards. Up the Raiders!!
